Fans have been rushing to defend the current Miss Iowa from Miguel Batista's remarks about her.

It all started on Tuesday when Stephen Strasburg, 22, was placed on the disabled list because of an inflamed shoulder. Now what does that have to do with a pageant girl? Stay and listen along with me. Replacement pitcher Miguel Batista, 39 (yes, he's really old), jogged onto the field only to be greeted by boos from the crowd. (He won the game, by the way.) Later that evening reporters asked Batista about his unwelcoming entrance.

"Imagine if you go to see Miss Universe, then you end up having Miss Iowa, you might get those kind of boos," Batista said. "

And that's when things got ugly. Fans filled the Sports Illustrated Hot Clicks mailbox with pictures of (former and current) Miss Iowans. Even the 2010 Miss Iowa Katherine Connors responded to the , "I know I can throw a pitch or two. The question is, can Miguel Batista walk the runway in a swimsuit?" OMG...... Who do you think is hotter???

Miguel Batista swears his comments were taken out of context and promptly sent Connors flowers. He's even offered to catch one of her pitches in tomorrow night's game. But the reconciliation doesn't end there. Miss Iowa asked Miguel Batista to be a guest judge in October's Miss Iowa pageant. He has yet to respond.

Hmmm? How would a swimsuit look on him??? I wouldn't even wanna think about it.....Do you?

Biography

Katherine is 20 years old and a native of Iowa. She grew up in Bettendorf where she graduated with honors from Assumption High School in 2007. After high school, Katherine was accepted into the Nursing Program at Scott Community College where she is currently studying for her RN license and is the Treasurer of the SCC Nursing Club. Her goal is to become a surgical nurse and one day earn her Nurse Practitioners license.

Katherine is currently a volunteer for the Gilda’s Club Noogieland program, which is a non-profit organization that offers programs for children and teens whom have been affected by a diagnosis of cancer. She is also a regular blood donor for the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center and is on the National Bone Marrow Registry. Katherine believes that “we all have the power to give the gift of life” through donation programs such as these. She earned her Gallon Grad award in 2007.

Katherine loves to travel and has been fortunate to travel to twenty-four states and 10 countries. In her leisure time she enjoys shopping, watching movies and spending time with family and friends. She is the daughter of Daniel and Carol Connors and has two older brothers and recently became an aunt for the first time with the arrival of her nephew Jackson!
